LETIsmart is the project that wins the fourth edition of Make to Care, an open innovation initiative conceived by Sanofi Genzyme to encourage and support the development of innovative solutions that meet the needs of people living with disabilities.
LETIsmart was conceived by Marino Attini, president of the Trieste branch of the Italian Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and it was realized in collaboration with SCEN, a company leader in microelectronics, and with the support from the Italian Union for the Blind and Irifor.
With this victory, Marino Attini will have the opportunity to live a completely new educational experience: no longer the Silicon Valley, but Israel this time, which is a fertile and brilliant “startup nation”. The goal of the intense week of meetings, held with the support of the Embassy of Israel in Rome, will be aimed at acquiring knowledge and useful contacts to further develop their ideas. Israel boasts the highest number of startups per capita and today has a very dynamic ecosystem of innovation and hi-tech that drives the economy and attracts investments. Among the leading sectors, are also Life Sciences and, in particular, the technology at the service of disability.
